Ubuntu in VPS Servers
Ubuntu is available with all our VPS plans and you can obtain a VPS running it in just 60 minutes. 32-bit and 64-bit editions of the OS are available, which means that you're able to select the one which you need if the software that you wish to run on your web hosting server has particular system requirements in this regard. You can also select whether your Ubuntu-powered VPS should be installed with no Control Panel, in which case you'll have full root access and you'll be able to install anything through a console; or if the Hepsia Control Panel should be installed on it, in which case you will have a web interface and all of the needed web server, MySQL, FTP, mail server, etcetera. software is pre-installed. The root access in the second case will be more restricted, but such a setup is more effective for users with less experience. We will also maintain your Ubuntu up-to-date on a regular basis when you add the Managed Services upgrade. You will be able to do so during the VPS order process or at any later time through your billing Control Panel.
Ubuntu in Dedicated Servers
Ubuntu is among the OS options that you'll find on our registration page in case you want to obtain one of our dedicated web hosting plans. We will set up the 32-bit or the 64-bit version, in order to match the system requirements of the apps which you want to install on the server. You may also choose the software that will run on your machine, due to the fact that we will set up only the Apache web server software, so all else can be customized software of your choice. You will be able to set up the latter without any problems by using a Secure Shell console, as you will get root-level access and you will have full control of the hosting server. You are free to set up a hosting Control Panel as well and control some things using a graphical interface, as long as it can function on an Ubuntu-driven machine. To make things easier, we also offer a Managed Services upgrade, that, among other things, features OS upgrades.
